eddi Origin

eddi — a name meaning rejuvenation and delight — was born out of a missed opportunity. I’ve spent years traveling for work — conferences, client meetings, quick turnarounds — and almost never made time to actually see the places I landed in.

I’d find myself in a new city with a few hours to spare, but no clue what to do with them. Not enough time for a full vacation, but too much to waste in a hotel lobby. Wouldn’t it be nice, I used to think, if I just knew someone local who could show me around for a bit?

Then one day, I picked up a group of airline crew while out driving for Uber/Lyft — and it clicked. They didn’t want a tour. They wanted what I had given them by accident: a local moment, real conversation, a sense of place.

That feeling reminded me of a few standout trips in my life — a local’s tour of County Kerry, a Southeast Asia journey made magical by friends-of-friends and thoughtful guides.

eddi exists to recreate those kinds of escapes— custom, local, and easy — for anyone with just a few hours and a desire to see the city differently... a little vacation.
